FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OIC of Washington Calls on Local Businesses to Support 21st Annual Jobs for Youth Program
Yakima, WA – March 26, 2026

OIC of Washington is inviting local businesses, employers, and community partners to participate in its 21st Annual Jobs for Youth Program, taking place on May 27, 2026, at the OIC Henry Beauchamp Community Center in Yakima.

This annual event, made possible in partnership with the Downtown Yakima Rotary Club, Safe Yakima Valley, and other dedicated community supporters, connects local employers with motivated youth who are ready to enter the workforce, gain hands-on experience, and build long-term career pathways. OIC is seeking business partners to help expand opportunities for young people across the region.

Employers can get involved in several meaningful ways:

  • Hire a youth for a paid summer job or internship
  • Host a youth at their worksite through subsidized work experiences
  • Sponsor a youth, helping fund wages, training, and workforce development services

Through the Jobs for Youth Program, OIC prepares participants with job readiness training, workplace skills, and ongoing support to ensure successful placements. The program aims to serve more than 100 youth this year, many of whom come from underserved and rural communities across Central Washington.

By partnering with OIC, employers not only strengthen their workforce pipeline but also invest directly in the economic vitality of the region.

Businesses interested in participating or sponsoring a youth are encouraged to sign up today.
