Yakima Valley College seeks an Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2. The Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2 position supports the Workforce Education Division- Automotive Service Technician (AST) Program. This is a cyclic, 10-month, full-time, in-person, classified position, with Leave Without Pay (LWOP) July thru August of each year. Beginning salary is $3700 .00 per month for 40 hours per week, with periodic increments up to $4968.00 plus a full state benefits package.

Reporting to the Program Manager – Workforce Education, the Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2 will perform a variety of tasks in support of the Automotive Program and faculty. The Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2 will demonstrate they are professionally interested in monitoring and assisting students served by the AST Program to facilitate student success. Under general supervision, the successful incumbent will work in collaboration with college department faculty, administrators, and staff members; and perform work that requires knowledge of lab procedures, materials, equipment, safety practices, and other duties as assigned. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate who demonstrates a strong promise as a contributing member of the Workforce Education.

This position requires accountability, dependability, and engagement. Duties are performed in the automotive stockroom and shop/lab environment and require responsibilities of early open (7:00am) and closure of shop. Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs. is required.
