18th Annual Jobs for youth program

 Hire. Host. Support.
Build Yakima’s Future Workforce.
Job Fair: May 27 | 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: OIC Henry Beauchamp Community Center

Our goal is to support at least 100 youth in gaining:

  • Job readiness skills

  • Job shadow experiences

  • Internships

  • Paid summer employment

To make this happen, we aim to raise approximately $150,000, which covers:

  • $137,040 in direct student wages (100 youth at minimum wage for up to 80 hours)

  • $12,960 for student support services, certifications, and program administration (payment processing, materials, printing, etc.)

Employer participation, through hiring, hosting, or sponsoring, is what makes these opportunities possible.

How to Get Involved

  1. Hire a Youth for a Summer Job – Up to 80 hours • $1,370.40 wage commitment • Youth are trained and pre-screened

  2. Host a Youth – Commit to hosting a youth at your business or place of employment (wages covered by donors)

  3. Sponsor a Youth – Donate up to $1,370.40 (any amount helps)

  4. Join the Job Fair (May 27) – Conduct interviews, meet youth, and share career advice

  5. Additional ways to get involved: Mentor a youth, workplace tours, job shadow, career speakers, and transportation support

Youth are responsible for transportation unless otherwise arranged.
