AFOP’s Health & Safety National Farmworker Training Program

OIC offers AFOP’s Health and Safety National Farmworker Training to help agricultural workers stay safe on the job.

The Worker Protection Standard (WPS) portion covers pesticide safety, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), decontamination procedures, restricted entry intervals, application notifications, posting pesticide safety information, emergency medical documentation, and other essential safety practices to protect workers and their families.

The Heat Stress Prevention Training focuses on recognizing, preventing, and responding to heat-related illnesses in agricultural workplaces. Workers learn about proper hydration, rest breaks in shaded or cool areas, and acclimatization for new or returning employees, helping ensure their safety and the well-being of coworkers.
