FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Important Update on OIC Food Bank Process
Yakima, Washington – April 2, 2025

OIC of Washington is introducing a new automated scheduling system for food box pickups on April 8, 2025. This change will provide a smoother, more efficient experience for all clients. Clients will need to call ahead to reserve a time slot. Along with this new system, we will also be issuing ID cards for our food bank services.

New Food Bank Pickup Hours and Schedule:

  • Weekly Tuesday Pickup
    • Six Groups: Each group will have 30 available slots, with a 15-minute break in between groups.
    • Pickup Hours: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Afterhours Food Relief Pickup (Every 3rd Thursday of the Month)
    • Five Groups: Each group will have 30 available slots, with a 15-minute break in between groups.
    • Pickup Hours: 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM

How Will It Work?

  • Clients will call ahead to reserve a spot.
  • Reservations will open at 8:00 AM the day before the food bank day and continue until all slots are filled.
  • Each group has 30 available slots, so individuals will need to call early to ensure the preferred time.

Why Are We Making These Changes?

The new scheduling system is designed to reduce wait times, enhance traffic flow, and ultimately provide a more streamlined and positive experience for all community members. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we transition to this system.
